Beta Reading/Evaluation
This is your project. A beta reader is here to make your voice heard clearly. You have the final say on all suggested changes and retain all rights to your work at all times. The standard contract includes a Non-Disclosure Agreement to protect your intellectual property.
If you’re looking for objective feedback on your story, you’ve come to the right place!
What you get:
- Confidentiality – WIPs are never shared with anyone.
- Honest feedback – if you’re looking for an ego-stroke, you’re in the wrong place. Beta-reading is to provide constructive feedback, focusing on what is great about your work and what needs tweaking.
- Beta-reading report (Word doc or Google Doc) – A 1+ page containing overall feedback, social media quotes, and reading notes.
- In-line feedback for MS Word and Google Docs documents (a separate file for other formats).
Feedback focus:
- Opening
- Plot and pacing of your story
- Characters (relatability, believability, likability)
- Overall story structure and style
- Story setting
- Dialogue
All genres and styles welcome, including fiction, fan-fiction, non-fiction (no fact-checking provided, though you will get notes questioning things that seem like they need it), blogs, and adult/erotica.
